My problem: after getting through 110 pages of the book I accidentally did something and the edit area of the screen went blank grey. I bought C++ for Dummies which linked to Code::Blocks, which seems like the way to go (I also downloaded the Microsoft C++ IDE). I'm an old MSDOS programmer starting into the 21st century with C++.
